Photos and a few words from the heart of the Forest of Bowland. These are just some of my favourites picked to let friends know what I've been up to. Comments are more than welcome.

Happy-looking tractor at Chipping Fair 2009

Yellow wagtails (I think!)

Please correct me if I've mis-identified these, but they appear to be a pair of yellow wagtails photographed outside a primary school near Applecross, Scotland.

The Ribble during the freeze of January 2010. As a geographer, I loved the way the patterns frozen by the ice gave a clear indication of the flow patterns of the river.

Home sweet home

First post is always the worst post.

Welcome to 'Coral and Moss', a blog created to keep in touch with old friends via the medium of photographs. The name comes from a song, "Age Old Blue" by Alela Diane, whose "To Be Still" album was my favourite of 2009 (Narrowly beating Polvo's marvellous "In Prism".
